<正> 一、引子如果说马奇(Isadore Gibert Muddge)是美国图书馆参考咨询实践上的巨人;那么也可以这样说W.A.Katz是美国图书馆学界参考咨洵服务理论上的集大成者.马奇编写的《参考工具书指南》1917年出版后,成了图书馆员最常用的工具书和参考工作实践的向导.马奇的传记作者写道:"马奇不仅是一位妇女的名字,而且成了所有英语国家的图书馆员和学者们最熟悉的常用词".同样,W.K.Katz编著的"Introduction to Reference Work"V1: Basic Information Sources, V2: Reference Service & Reference process 连出四版,已成为西方参考服务教学最权威的教材.他本人被公认为参考服务理论的权成人物,他的著作
